Report on final  Heart of England match and the Mota-vation at Oxford
                                                      ATHLETICS OVERALL
Banbury Harriers retained their division one status despite a weak team at the final fixture in the Heart of England League held at Tamworth. There were also a number of encouraging performances to reflect on. The best perhaps under eleven Oliver Clamp long jumping on Sunday and in the two previous fixtures gaining him a bronze award, this with a best jump of 3m 72cm.
 The under thirteen girl’s as a team delivered throughout and finished their day on a high when winning the 4x100 metre relay. Members of the quartet produced some good individual performances. These included personal bests in both the 70metre hurdles and 800metres from Lily Hamp, good long jumping from Zoe Pollock and hurdling and shot putting from Victoria Harte.
 In the equivalent boy’s age group Charlie Yates improved his high jump to 1m 30cm. The under fifteen boy’s best came from another good day in the throws from Michael Dawes winning the discus and a personal best in the shot. In the girls Naomi Anderson lowered her time in the 100metres and Helen Dubber finished in second in the 75metre hurdles in a swift 12.3seconds. The duo played their part enabling for a second place in the 4x100metre relay.
In the older age group Beth Hope achieved personal a best time in both the 200 and 300metres.   
 The Moto-vation road race series came to an end in Oxford with nearly 300runners coming to the line. Of the local based clubs twenty five started, the first finisher in 8th place was Banbury Harrier Tim Wright this gaining third place overall in the senior age group. The race itself saw a close battle for three of the local runners with Cherwell’s Dan Pebody finishing 24th, Hook Norton’s Dave Tame 25th and Ian Thomas also from Cherwell 27th.
 The best two local ladies were Michelle Bartlett Banbury Harriers and Donna Allen Hook Norton finishing 103rd and 124th overall.
Other Harriers in the race were :-   P Coy 27.01, M Bartlett 27.23,  N Frape 28.14, A Crofts 28.27, N Forbes 29.00 G Pritchard 29.19, A Bartlett 30.52,  K Clarke 30.53, C Goodwin 34.59, and by no means last S Smith 40.05. Final standings are to follow
