Results for the Witney 10 mile, longworth 10k and Finstock 10k

The Witney 10 Cotswold Classic took place on 8th September 2013. This hilly race is also the County 10 mile championship event.  Banbury Harriers positions were Simon Pritchard 15th in 1.01.55 and V40 County bronze, Neil Frape 100th in 1.15.14 and Glyn Pritchard was 123rd in 1.18.03.

A few more entered the Longworth 10k.  This off road trail race was ideal preperation for the cross country season. Simon Pritchard was again first Harrier in 15th place and a time of 40.18 Next was Phil Coy in 44.40 then Michelle Bartlett in 45.38 and best female. Rebecca Beigel was next in 52.29 then Andy Bartlett in 54.42 Last of the Harriers but by no means last was Lisa Ansell in 54.52. These 3 ladies all showed good form and they will expect to do well in the cross country individual and team events.

Today (Sunday 29th September) was the Finstock 10k. This was run over the tracks and trails of the beautiful Cornbury park grounds. this was a hard run with some hills short and sharp and others long and grinding. You almost wanted to stop and admire the scenery at every turn (at the end I thought I must have as my time was so slow). However the great organisation, friendly marshals and tasty cakes at the end made up for the tough race. Simon Pritchard won the race and was also first v40 in a time of 38.14. Phil Coy was 22nd in 44.30 and Glyn Prichard came in 42nd in 48.59 out of 111 finishers.
