The U13/15 meeting at banbury

                                               YOUTH DEVELOPMENT ATHLETIC LEAGUE

Banbury Harriers like in the first fixture in the under13/15 age group of The Youth Development Athletic League had to settle for second place on Sunday when they hosted at the NOA.

Coventry Godiva again fielded a strong full team and certainly The Harriers will be the only club that can prevent them from winning the division.

There were several good performances from the host and again the under fifteen girls had their share. Evie Hawkins and Rebecca Scott stood out winning both the high and long jump events, Hawkins also claimed first in the discus.

Shannon Dawes won the javelin and the “B” string discus, producing a personal best in the latter.

Emily Thompson ran away with the 1500metres and both she and Scott look in good form for next month’s English School Championships.

In the final event of the day the 4x300metres relay saw the quartet of Thompson, Scott, Dawes and Lily Hamp win and break the club record.

In the younger girl’s age group there were good performances from Maddy Cooper in the 75metres and Emelina Darvell in the long jump.

In the boys events there were wins for Felix Noble in the 200metres, Jake Stickley and Seb Hartwell in the 300metres. In the field Stickley, Hartwell and Charlie Yates gained many good points.

In the younger age group Owen Knox in 1500metres, Theo Williams in both the 75m hurdles and high jump and Jake Maudsley in the throws gained good places and personal bests.
