Chiltern and Oxford mail

Banbury Harriers veteran women kept their second team place in the high quality Chiltern League at Culham on Saturday with Ros Kelling in 3rd (first F45), Michelle Bartlett 6th (2nd F45), Rebecca Biegel 39th and Lisa Ansell 45th.  Combined with Rebecca Pull (27th) they also kept their 3rd senior women’s team place.  Tim Wright had a good run in 7th place in the senior mens race, followed home by Simon Pritchard (37th), Phil Coy (65th and first M60), Neil Forbes (90th) and Andy Bartlett 97th

In the U15 Girls Jenny Hannah ran a very good race to come home second, and in the U17 Girls a below par Emily Thompson was 4th, Rose Lord 5th and Lucy Scruton 7th to give them first team place on the day. 

By Sunday the wind had died noticeably for the Oxford Mail League, again held at Culham.  It was good to see so many younger members out with Henry Pollock 6th, Max Lloyd-Thomas 7th and Ruben Snelson 8th I the U11 Boys race.  Skip Snelson had a very decisive win in the U13 Boys race, followed home by Angus Pollock in 5th.  Tia Williams had a good run to come home second in the U15 Girls with Naomi Dibb 15th on her first outing for Banbury Harriers. 

In the combined U15/U17 mens race Banbury Harriers managed to put out 2 teams, with Gregor Kelling and Owen Knox having their best runs of the season so far in 7th and 14th and Reuben Trotter 18th on his first outing for Harriers, giving them 3rd team place. 

The Senior Women’s team were first in division 2 with Rosie Weston 16th, Ros Kelling 22nd (first F45) and Michelle Bartlett 31st.  

Tim Wright – another to run both Saturday and Sunday – had his best result of the season to come home 11th.
