This weeks event at Tipton.

Banbury Harriers were in record breaking form in Sunday’s YDL Midlands Division 1 at Tipton.

With the Bank Holiday sun on his back Seb Hartwell stormed home to win the U17 400m in 50.4s smashing the club record 0.7s. Ben Brown was 3rd in the B string in 56.7s and won the B Long Jump.

The sprinters used the fast track for PBs with Ollie Sprio running the 100m in 11.2s and a stunning 2nd in the U17 200m in 22.4s, a 0.7s PB. Matt Hall was 3rd in the U17 B 100m in 11.8s PB and 2nd in the Long Jump. Felix Noble was 5th in the A 100m.

The ladies had a clean sweep in the sprints with Abbey Anson winning the U17W 100m in 12.6s and Zoe Pollock the B string in 12.9s. Zoe then ran like the wind winning the 200m in new record of 25.6s and an ESAA qualifying time. Lily Hamp ran strongly for 4th in 300m and 2.35.1 in the 800m. Helen Dubber was 4th in the 80mH and Rebecca Scott 3rd in the 300mH, High Jump and 2nd in the Long Jump.

Not to be outshone by the track performances Michael Dawes throw the U20M Hammer 49.17m in a new club record, winning the event and backed this up with a 2nd in the Shot Put. Charlie Shepherd won the B Shot in a new PB of 8.13m. Shannon Dawes won the U17W Javelin.

The U17M team of Hall, Hartwell, Noble and Sprio then wrapped up the day with a win in the 4 x 100m relay.
