                                                           Sunday 05th June

Warm humid weather on Sunday morning gave way to a gloriously sunny but ultimately exhausting day at the Heart of England League at Worcester, in the second round competition, with a bountiful supply of excellent results, as regular competitors were joined by some newcomers.

In under-13's, Tegan Armstrong flew to a 1st place and PB in 70mH with 11.8sec, alongside teammate Maddy Dowden gaining a 1st in B-string12.7sec, with another win for Christopher Charles in 75mH 12.6sec. Armstrong also took 1st in Long Jump with 4.18m, and 3rd in 100m setting a PB with 14.5. Dowden improved her PB in shot to 6.10m taking 2nd, and the same position in 100m B-string. Charles also took a slightly unfamiliar 3rd in 100m & 200m against stiff competition. Lucy Thompson managed a PB too, with an excellent 2nd of 15.34m, whilst Niki Bishop, recovering from a bad fall and injury similarly PB’d in her 1500m.

Rising star Archie Jones performed exceptionally well with PBs in 800m and Long Jump.

Ethan Aldous, still recovering from injury, took 2nd in Long Jump, and 3rd in 600m in under-11s. Companion Archie Street produced PBs in Long Jump 3rd with 3.79m, Howler 2nd 30.03m, and 600m, whilst Olivia Cook took 4th in the girls’ 600m with a PB, and set a new PB in 75m. Tilly Lainchbury claimed 1st in 600m.Reuben Snelson shone with a win in 600m with team-mate Leo Andersen on his heels for 2nd. Ellie Williams bolstered the team in 75m and came 2nd in Howler B-string.

Under 15's struggled in numbers, but Lizzie Eskender PB’d in Long Jump. And Sidney Sellers took 3rd in 75mH, with Will Andrews managing a credible 3rd in Long Jump.

Rebecca Scott (under-17) performed well in Long Jump 4.80m and High 1.45m taking 1st in both, and will undoubtedly prove herself even better as the season continues. Helen Dubber took 2nd in 80mH, and joined Paige Cooper in discus. Ollie Spiro continues to shine with 1st in 100m.

An excellent performance from some strong athletes as we head towards the final Match in this league on 10th July.
