Chiltern league report

17/01/2017

Cross country at Keysoe

The fourth, and penultimate, race in the Chiltern League was held at Keysoe Equestrian Centre on Saturday.  The relatively flat course, with a water jump to negotiate,  suited Emily Thompson (U17 Women) .  After leading for much of the race she tired towards the end and settled for 2nd place.  The senior women again put out a strong team in an effort to move up from 4th place.  With their best results of the season Ros Kelling in 5th and Michelle Bartlett in 6th were 1st and 2nd V45’s.  Lisa Ansell made up a very pleasing 33 places on her last run, and was followed home by Sarka Bishop (42nd), Sarah Andrews (43rd) and Rebecca Biegel (54th).  This gave the team 3rd place on the day, but still 4th overall.  This makes 3rd placed Bearbrook difficult to catch in the last race at Milton Keynes in February.  In the mens race a slightly under par Tim Wright was 4th, Phil Coy 89th and Neil Forbes 103rd.

Thanks to Roz for the report & Ken for the photos.

editors note

I had to include Lisa as she was the only one out of 500 odd runners who had a smile on her face in that freezing water.
