Report on the Home cross country at Bo peep farm

OXFORDSHIRE COUNTY CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS

Banbury Harriers junior athletes came home with a number of medals after competing at Oxfordshire Cross Country Championships held at Bo Peep Farm, Adderbury on Sunday. The course was mainly grass with muddy sections after the recent rain.

The first race of the day was for U9 athletes boys and girls combined, and Annie Eyre showing confidence after a number of races this winter, came away with the gold medal. In the U11 Boys race Ollie Lloyd-Thomas was 2nd and Nico Hartley 3rd.

Isla McGowan, continuing her consistent season in the U13 Girls category, was awarded with the silver medal and automatic qualifying place for the Oxfordshire County team at Inter County Championships in March. The U13 Girls team were also awarded a bronze medal with Charlotte Hall 11th and Leila Denne 17th.

U15 Girl Tilly Lainchbury was another Harrier to gain a qualifying place in the county team with a bronze medal.
