Radley open & Oxford city throws.

                                                               RADLEY OPEN

Two club records tumbled by Banbury Harriers athletes at Radley AC’s Open meeting on Sunday. In ideal conditions Helen Dubber lowered the under fifteen girl’s 75metre hurdle record by one hundredth of second winning in 11.89s.

The second record fell to Shana Parker and came in the triple jump, when she increased her own overall record to 10.75cm.

A large number of the clubs athlete’s attended the meeting in the warm sunshine, which almost resulted in other performances close to records. Abbey Anson produced the fastest time in a large entry in the under fifteen girls 100m and the second best in the 200m. In both the club could fall to her in the near future. This could apply to Emily Thompson in the 300metres in this age group, after easily winning the 1500metres she then recorded a swift 43.95s in the former.

Luke Sherlock produced the quickest time by a Harrier in the 800metres for a number of years. The under seventeen produced a personal best with a time of 2minutes 1.26seconds.

Also in the sprints there were also good early season times from under seventeen Alfie Rowett and under fifteen Felix Noble.

In the field events Rebecca Scott showed she could and should have a good season in the high jump, with the best overall clearance at the meeting of 1metre 55centre metres. She also produced a useful leap in the long jump of nearly 4m 50cm.
