Report on Oxford mail cross country

Due to holidays and injury there was a smaller than normal turnout of Harriers for the latest stage of the Oxon Mail cross-country series on Sunday 4^th January at Culham Park.

Ruben Snelson got things off to a great start when taking a comfortable victory in the under-9’s event which also saw a good run from Tilly Lainchbury in 28^th. Sophie Howie was first under-11 girl home in 35^th followed by Maddy Dowden in 40^th, Nikola Bishop in 47^th and Jess Knox in 48^th. Harriers had a strong showing in the under-11 boys with Max Lloyd-Thomas and Christopher Charles 5^th and 6^th respectively, Jasper Bell 8^th, Henry Pollock 14^th, Ben Knox 25^th and Ryan Barnby 31^st. Lizzie Eskender  ran well in the under-13 girls for 32^nd while Skip Snelson again showed his class to finish 2^nd in the boys event. Angus Pollock also ran strongly for an well-earned 11^th place. Emily Thompson ran exceptionally well in the under-15’s/17’s  girls race finishing 4^th overall but just 3 seconds off 2^nd and was only beaten by 3 runners in the higher age group, she also took 1^st place in the county event. Rosie Weston ran well for 9^th place and Jenny Hannah for 12^th. In a tough under15/17 boys event Gregor Kelling was the only Harrier in the field and came home in 20^th place.

In the senior events Ros Kelling was first Banbury Lady home in 18^th, folwed by Becky pull in 80^th, Rebecca Biegel in 87^th and Alison Nuttall in 120^th. First senior man home was Tim Wright in 17^th place followed by Simon Pritchard 67^th, Phil Coy 183^rd and Glyn Pritchard 224^th
