cross country at Campbell park

A large team of Harriers braved the blustery conditions at Campbell Park, Milton Keynes on Saturday for the latest stage of the Chiltern League Cross-country series. There were some very creditable results but particularly first place finishes for Emily Thompson in the under-15 girls, Ros Kelling in the F45 and Bruce Hendrie in the M60 stood out.

The early racing saw good runs from Barney Ballantine and Nikola Bishop in the under-11’s finishing 62nd and 56th respectively in the boys and girls races. Then came the under-15 girls victory for Emily and also a fine 8th place for Tia Williams. In the senior men Tim Wright again excelled to finish 5th overall, followed home by Simon Pritchard in 16th but also 2nd M40. Bruce finished 71st overall when bagging victory in the M60 category and Phil Coy picked up an excellent 3rd place M60 coming home 84th overall. Neil Forbes in 106th, Geoff Smith in 110th and Neil Frape in 113th completed a notable set of Harriers results. In the Woman’s event Ros finished an excellent 4th overall when winning the F45 followed by Michelle Bartlett in 8th and 2nd place F45 and Rebecca Biegel 42nd and 15th F45.
