Emily Thompson again ran a very good tactical race on a hilly, twisty and very boggy course at Wollaton Park to finish second in the under-15 girls event.  From the gun Thompson and Libby Coleman of Sutton in Ashfield Harriers pulled well clear of the field.  Coleman opened up a small gap on the second lap, which Thompson managed to hold and bring back marginally on the slightly uphill finish. The race finished with Coleman first in 15.00, and Thompson a very creditable second in 15.05.  The chasing pack pulled back slightly in the second part of the race and Harrier Tia Williams, with another year in this age group still to come, showed a good return of fitness with a pleasing 28th place finish.  They were well supported by Rose Lord in 48th and Lucy Scruton in 71st to give Banbury Harriers 5th place in the under-15 Girls team event. Rosie Weston ran a strong race in the under-17 girl’s race, and her 16th place out of 60 athletes was reward for some very consistent training through the winter. Ros Kelling also ran a consistently strong race for first place in the V50 category and 58th place out of the 235 senior ladies overall.  Other Harriers finishing the senior race were Becky Pull in 150th and RebeccaBiegel in 186th.
