Emily Thompson ran a new personal best of 2 minutes 10 seconds to win her BMC Grand Prix 800m race at Watford on Saturday. This time ranks her 6th U17 Girl in Great Britain for 800m. On a perfect warm and calm evening Emily followed the pacemaker through the first 400m before taking on the race and finishing strongly. Emily, along with Michael Dawes in the hammer, have been selected to represent Oxfordshire at English Schools Athletics Championships in Gateshead on 10th and 11th July.
