Last fixture and overall results

Banbury Harriers athletes came home with a great 5 trophies in division 2 after the last round of the Chiltern Cross Country League held on Saturday a Campbell Park, Milton Keynes.  On a bitterly cold day the senior men set off on the 8km hilly course led by Tim Wright who came home in second place, and after a consistent season was rewarded with 1st overall senior mens prize in the league.  Simon Pritchard was 34th, Phil Coy 87th (4th M60) Neil Forbes 99th (6th M60) and Glyn Pritchard 101st (7th M60).  Phil and Neil, who have raced every round of the Chiltern League, were presented with  very well earned 2nd and 3rd M60 trophies for the league.

In the senior ladies race Ros Kelling and Michelle Bartlett, carrying on with their very consistent season, swapped places on a course now very cut up by the men.  Picking off athletes who were tiring towards the end of the race the pair were 5th and 6th (1st and 2nd F45) and only separated by 4 seconds at the end of the race.  They were awarded first and second F45 trophies for the season, and were very pleased with their first and second places in the overall league including division one teams.  Joined by Lisa Ansell and Sarah Andrews in 32nd and  37th respectively they were first vet ladies team on the day, but could not quite make up enough points on the leading teams and had to settle for 4th vet team overall in the league.
